Federal, Provincial and Territorial Plan for Expression of Interest Model

Posted by admin - Bellissimo Law Group PC

Federal, provincial, and territorial immigration ministers have created a plan for the development of an Expression of Interest model for Canada that will help with remolding Canada’s immigration system to meet the needs of our labour market by targeting the right set of skilled workers.

“The federal government’s focus remains on economic growth and job creation, and immigration plays a key role in Canada’s long-term prosperity… Cooperation between federal, provincial and territorial governments is key to the success of Canada’s immigration system and securing better outcomes for newcomers.”, declared Jason Kenney on the meeting with the ministers and the impact it will make for Canada’s immigration system as it continues to grow.

The Provincial Nominee Program has helped with the economic immigration as it has continued to steadily grow since its launch, and its benefits lie within determining what labour market and skills are needed for each province and territory.  The Expression of Interest model will help with the strengthening of all federal, provincial, and territorial economic immigration programs. This model will help with having all immigrants actively participate in the Canadian economy and society to their upmost potential.
