The System Works!

I have been in court for the last several days in a row arguing cases for refused study permits, deportations, citizenship and others but one case I recently argued really stood out for me. It was for a woman who has down syndrome and her family in Canada has been fighting to bring her here for several years.

She is a lovely woman who deserves a chance to be reunited with her family. After two refusals and years of battle and very unfair decisions, the last decision was finally over turned today. I am so delighted for this family who have stood by their sister through very challenging circumstances. Although there is more work to be done, it is at these times I take great comfort in all my hard work, being Canadian and a part of a system that works!
