HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANADA!
O, HAPPY 147TH BIRTHDAY CANADA!
While we get dressed up in our red and white tomorrow, to show homage to our country we need to also have somewhere to go and celebrate. For those who won’t be in the nation’s Capital celebrating on Parliament Hill; don’t worry the GTA still has lots to offer.
- Mel Lastman Square will be hosting musical performances and a day filled with activities from 5:00pm-10:30pm for the entire family.
- The Toronto Ribfest held at Centennial Park has extended the length of its festival to Canada Day this year. They have a fun line up of musical talents this year, not to mention mouth watering food. The park will be opened from 11:00AM-11:00PM
- The Scotiabank CHINPICNIC held at the Better Living Centre, Exhibition Place Canada’s largest multicultural festival will also host a FREE day of family activities from 11:00AM-11:00PM.
Families can also head down to Queens Park Canada Celebration to enjoy face painting, midway rides, arts and crafts and much more. These events will be available from 10:00AM- 5:00PM with a 21-salute beginning at noon.
- Thomson Park in Scarborough will also host its 47th annual Canada day celebration which will include a FREE PANCAKE BREAKFAST this event will start at 10:00AM with his annual parade starting at 4:00PM.
Citizenship ceremonies will also be held tomorrow at Black Creek Pioneer Village from 10:00AM -5:00PM, and for all our sports fans the Toronto Blue Jays will take on the Milwaukee Brewers at the Rogers Centre game starts at 1:07PM.
Most of these events will end with a display of fireworks however; if you are not able to attend these events Downsview Park, Canada’s Wonderland, and Harbourfront Centre, will also have a live fireworks show.
LCBO and Beer Stores will be closed tomorrow, TTC will be running on holiday schedule, and GO transit on Saturday Schedule.
The Eaton Centre (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.), Vaughan Mills (10 a.m. – 7 p.m.), Square One Shopping Centre (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.) and Bramalea City Centre (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.), will be open but Yorkdale mall is closed
