Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver Among the Top 10 Most Livable Cities, says The Economist

Adding to the long list of reasons of why Canada is a great country to live in, The Economist recently published their annual “Global Liveability Ranking and Report”, where cities are ranked based on which can provide the best to worst living conditions, according to stability, health care, culture/environment, education and infrastructure.

Though Melbourne, Australia took the top spot this year, three Canadian cities comprised the top 10, with Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary ranked third, fourth and fifth (tied with Adelaide) respectively on the index. The top 10 cities follow a trend of being mid-sized cities located in wealthy countries, that also have low population density; all positive indicators of comfortable, livable regions. Unsurprisingly, cities that are currently experiencing rampant violence and crime were lowly ranked, with Damascus, Syria at the bottom of the list.
