Happy Holi: Celebrating the Hindu Festival of Colours and Love

Bright, bold, and lively –three words that can describe today’s celebration of Holi. A Hindu festival that has been around for generations, it is a holiday that commences with stories and legends by the camp-fire and has a colourful conclusion. Participants throw not only water, but also coloured powders at one another and create a vibrant display on city streets around the world.

What is even more remarkable perhaps, is the message that the holiday symbolizes. Known as the festival of colours and love, Holi marks the triumph of good over evil, and aims to communicate a message of peace. Over time, this joyful event has become increasingly popular among those of various faiths, and has brought diverse communities together in celebration.
