CBSA: Twelve Months is New Removal Target!

• Most failed refugee claimants will be removed within twelve months of receiving a decision following implementation of BRRA.

• PRRA function will be switched to IRB but removals will be conducted faster, often before applicants become eligible for PRRA.

• Minister of Public Safety to retain authority for persons found to be inadmissible for security reasons.

• Introduction of pilot program: Assisted Voluntary Returns.
