A New “Start-up Visa” for Immigrant Entrepreneurs
Minister Jason Kenney recently announced potential changes to the Business Immigration Programs. The objective is to proactively target entrepreneurs who can contribute to Canada’s economic growth by building innovative companies that can compete on a global scale and create jobs for Canadians.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) intends to consult with industry associations in the development of a “start up” visa program for innovative entrepreneurs. This program will consists of linking immigrant entrepreneurs with private sector organizations that will help newcomers explore the Canadian business environment.
