A Canada Day to Remember!
Canada day was celebrated across the world, from London to Australia with a sentiment of pride and inclusion. Here at home, the Canadian spirit was at an all-time high with people expressing their love and gratitude for Canada. The celebrations started early in Ottawa with a patriotic speech from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau where he addressed the spirit of inclusiveness and constant improvement as our guiding principles.
In Toronto, people flocked to the Waterfront to take selfies with a special guest – a giant rubber duck that brought approximately half a million visitors to the area on the first day alone. As we made our way to the HTO park, we saw families decked out in full Canada gear, kids excited to hold their Canadian flags and tons of people lined up at the food stall of the Artisan Market. After snapping more giant duck pictures than one could ever need, we headed to Sugar beach for the lumberjack show and to take part in the various Fun Zone activities.
But no Canada Day is complete without the fireworks! We ended the night with not one but two firework shows. The first one which took place at the CN tower was a remarkable spectacle in front of our iconic tower. The grand finale took place at The Harbourfront. Cars stood bumper to bumper on Queens Quay and thousands of people gathered together to watch and celebrate Canada 150. Overall, it was a memorable day to remind us all of the beautiful country we live in!
