Canada ranks in the top 10 best places to be born in 2013

The Economist has ranked Canada as the 9th best country to be born in 2013 out of 80 countries.

Rankings are calculated based on wealth, crime rate, trust in public institutions and the health of family life. Quality of family life is based on divorce rate; job security is calculated by unemployment rate and gender equality by the number of seats in parliament held by women.

According to the Economist, Switzerland is the best place to be born in 2013 and Nigeria is the worst.
