Lunar New Year: It’s the year of the Horse!
All over the world today, individuals and families of Chinese heritage will be celebrating the beginning of Chinese New Year also referred to as “Spring Festival”. This is the year of the horse, which symbolizes strength and energy.
If you are in the Greater Toronto Area this weekend you can take part in the following FREE activities:
- The year of the Horse Chinese New year Celebration Hosted by the Toronto Public Library Lilian H. Smith branch at 239 College Street (College and Spadina). The event is on February 1, 2014 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. This event is for the entire family.
- Celebrating Year of the Horse with the Chinese Cultural Centre Located at 5183 Sheppard Avenue East (Sheppard and Progress). The event is on Saturday February 1, 2014 from 1:30 pm-3:30 pm. This is a family event for the entire community – all cultural backgrounds!
- The annual Chinatown BIA celebrations: At the China Town Centre (222 Spadina Avenue) and the the Dragon City Mall (280 Spadina Ave) on Saturday February 1, 2014 from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm.
