New Citizenship Judge Appointments Announced!

Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Jason Kenney announced today that Harjit Dhaliwal has been appointed as a Citizenship Judge in Mississauga for a three year part time term and Joseph Keith Woodard has been appointed as a Citizenship Judge in Calgary for a three year full time term.

Judge Dhaliwal has more than 25 years of experience as a small business owner in the optical field as well as experience in the commercial real estate and investment sector. He has served as chair of the Wishmaker Parade for Peel Region and was a founding member of the International Punjabi Chamber of Commerce.  Judge Woodard has many years of experience in journalisms including as Editor in Chief of the Western Standard and as a Senior Writer-Editor at the Calgary Herald. He also has extensive experience in academics, serving as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Brock University.

Citizenship judges are responsible for making decisions with regards to citizenship applications; supervise citizenship ceremonies and administering the oath of citizenship to new citizens.
