Why Are So Many People Asking the CBSA for their Travel Records?
Mario D. Bellissimo was featured in a March 2nd Embassy News article by Peter Mazereeuw. Its focus is on an unprecedented increase in record requests to the CBSA by the general public, especially since 2011. However, there may be a good reason for this spike.
These reports are usually used in order to prove time spent in the country by those renewing permanent residence and applying for citizenship. Mr. Bellissimo was quoted as saying that before an application is submitted, “you want to do your due diligence” in order to make sure everything is correct.
