Where to Celebrate Canada Day in Toronto
Canada plans to celebrate its birthday this year with grand festivities happening across the country. While many people are packing up to enjoy a relaxing weekend getaway, others are heading to our Nation’s capital for Canada’s big birthday bash. But if your plans are to stay in Toronto then lookout for some of the festivities coming your way!
Concerts will be held at four locations across Toronto including a four-day festival at Nathan Phillips Square from June 30 to July 3, and one-day events at Mel Lastman Square, Humber Bay Park West and Scarborough Civic Centre on July 1. For a fun family day outing, join the Canada day festivities at Queen’s Park where there is something to see and do for kids of all ages such as face painting and arts and crafts. You can purchase food and beverages from food vendors and expect music and dance performances. Similar celebrations will take place in Amesbury Park with activities including a talent show and even a body building show.
The Toronto Ribfest invites you to kick off your summer at Centennial Park with their mouthwatering BBQ and lots of fun daily attractions for the whole family. And last but not least, Toronto’s Waterfront will be celebrating big with their Redpath Waterfront festival where you can enjoy interactive dance and music performances as well as indulge in the delicious food of artisans, chefs and bakers. The Royal Canadian Navy returns with lots of interactive activities and a chance for visitors to jump aboard and tour the deck of Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship. And you may have heard of a giant rubber duck joining the festivities as well – so join the fun in your favourite red and white outfit and be prepared to take a selfie or two.
