November 11th is a day that resonates with all Canadian citizens, whether you were born here or are a newcomer. Kicking off Veterans Week, ahead of Remembrance Day next Tuesday, Veteran Affairs Minister Julian Fantino has announced a Twitter campaign, asking Canadians to share memories of veterans and active soldiers using the hashtag “#WhoWillYouRemember”. With the recent tragic deaths of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo and Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, Remembrance Day in Canada this year will be particularly bittersweet. Through harnessing the far-reaching influence of social media, the hope for this campaign is to memorialize the stories and recollections of Canadian men and women who have fought and are still fighting to protect the rights and privileges that we enjoy in our country everyday.
